Indian Springs Welcomes New Director of Admission

Indian Springs School is pleased to announce that Birmingham native Claire Cassady has joined the school as Director of Admission and Financial Aid. Cassady will lead enrollment initiatives and organize on- and off-campus admission events for Indian Springs, which is nationally recognized as a leader in coed boarding and day education for grades 8-12.

“Our Office of Admission plays a central role in attracting bright, motivated students to our dynamic school community,” says ISS Director Gareth Vaughan. “Claire’s vibrant personality coupled with her educational background and experience make her ideally suited to represent our incredible program to the many families considering Indian Springs for high school locally, nationwide, and around the world.”

Cassady previously served as Assistant Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Saint Mary’s School in Raleigh, N.C., where she coordinated campus visits for prospective students and their families, managed the school’s financial aid budget, and served as dormitory head, ninth grade class adviser, and 11th grade speech mentor.

A 2011 graduate of Vanderbilt University, Cassady received her B.S. in Child Studies from the Peabody College of Education. Before college, she boarded during grades 9-12 at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she was awarded the school’s first Distinguished Scholar four-year merit scholarship. The daughter of ISS alumnus Ed Cassady ’76, she attended Advent Episcopal School in Birmingham for grades K-8.

“I am thrilled to be joining Indian Springs as the new Director of Admission,” says Cassady. “For over 60 years, Springs has cultivated a sense of curiosity and a love of learning in its students. I have admired the school since my childhood visits to the campus with my father, who is a very proud alum, and I look forward to working with students and families from across the state, the country, and the world to continue Springs’ tradition of excellence.”
