Curtis Phillips

Dean of Students
Curtis Phillips joined Indian Springs School in 2024 as the Dean of Students and a physics instructor. Prior to joining the faculty and staff of Indian Springs, he taught in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey. Curtis’ experience portrays a wide array of teaching, coaching, and administrative positions, including middle school teacher, high school teacher, athletic director, academic development center and peer tutoring program director, and academic dean. As a track and field coach, he has instructed at the high school, collegiate (University of Pittsburgh), and post-collegiate levels. During his time at Pitt, he was part of three Big East Team Championships and coached four NCAA Division I All-Americans. As the head coach at Woodberry Forest School, the program won 12 state track and field titles, as well as produced 81 state champions. Curtis holds a bachelor's in secondary education physics from Slippery Rock University. He enjoys spending time with his family and working in the realm of sports performance and biomechanics.
