Indian Springs School, rated the top private high school in Alabama, seeks to prepare students for college and the world by encouraging them to find their passion, ask much of themselves, and imagine new possibilities.
With over 350 acres at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, Indian Springs’ campus includes state-of-the-art learning and performing arts facilities, residential halls, athletic fields, a lake, an organic garden, and endless opportunities for learning and growing! We are located just 15 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama, and share a border with the northern edge of Oak Mountain State Park, a nearly 10,000-acre state park offering one of the country’s widest arrays of outdoor activities. Thus, students at Indian Springs possess unparalleled resources at their fingertips on campus, as well as access to pristine natural environs and the instructive amenities of a major urban center.
Our campus provides the ideal setting for students to engage in a hands-on and personalized curriculum. It is not uncommon to see a group of students at Indian Springs building a game-winning A.I. algorithm, designing a practical, localized initiative to reduce carbon emissions, developing black-and-white analog photographs in one of our dark rooms, and more. Students engage in this hands-on curriculum in small classes where teachers know each student and can tailor instruction to each student’s unique needs.
