Five Indian Springs students were recently recognized for their outstanding test scores.

Alex Hage ’25 was named a National Merit Commended Scholar in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Alex’s score placed among the top 3% of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT in the fall of 2023. He will receive Letters of Commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program.

Josie Butler ’26, Ellis Carter ’25, CJ Nwosu ’25, and Jett Waara ’26 were named by the College Board National Recognition Program based on outstanding academic achievement and test scores. They scored in the top 10% of students in the state of Alabama on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10.

The College Board National Recognition Programs create pathways to college for underrepresented students by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country. To be eligible, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams. They must also identify as African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.

Congratulations to all!
