List of 5 items.

  • Late Arrivals

If you know your student will be late for class, please call the Front Office at 205.988.3350. When students arrive on campus, they must sign in at the Front Office. Failure to do so will result in their being marked absent.
  • Early Departures

To leave campus before classes end, day students must have permission from a parent, and boarding students must have permission from their dorm leaders. If you are picking up your student early, you may sign the student out at the Front Office. If your student is leaving early with another driver or alone, you may call the Front Office at 205.988.3350 to give your student permission to leave. These students must also sign out at the Front Office, where they will receive a pass to present to the security officer at the gate.
  • Planned Absences

Students who are planning to miss class for any reason should contact their teachers to let them know.  Students and families are encouraged to plan ahead and arrange make-up work in advance whenever possible.  A student's total number of absences per class is published with each grade report, and families can always keep track of a student's number of absences in Blackbaud.
  • Unexpected Absences

If your student must miss class unexpectedly due to illness or emergency, please report the absence by calling the Front Office at 205.988.3350. Please leave a voicemail if you call before 8:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. Students missing class for a medical appointment must submit a doctor's note for their confidential medical file. Doctor's notes may be turned in at the Front Office, faxed to 205.332.0566, or emailed to awammack@indiansprings.org.
  • Extended Absence Due to Illness

Students who are absent from class for an extended period of time due to illness should contact their academic advisor and their teachers. Upon returning to school, they must submit a doctor's note. Doctor's notes may be turned in at the Front Office (in a sealed envelope with "School Nurse" written on the front), faxed to 205.332.0566, or emailed to awammack@indiansprings.org. All student health and medical information is confidential. Please contact Director of School Health Services Amy Wammack at 205.477.0587 or awammack@indiansprings.org if you have any questions or concerns.
