At Indian Springs, we know that the arts are a core component of a balanced education, so they are at the center of everything we do. From choir concerts and musicals to studio-based crafts, including ceramics and photography, we create student-centered, skills-focused environments that celebrate creativity.
Because we believe in achievement and aim for excellence, what our choirs sing in our state-of-of-the-art Concert Hall on campus one evening, they could be performing around the world a few days later. Our students take these opportunities seriously—more than 100 (a third of our student body) sing in the choir and practice daily. Forty of these students also join our Chamber Choir, which means they get to share their talents with audiences in places as diverse as Switzerland, Romania, and Spain. Closer to home, the Concert Choir has opportunities to perform domestically in cities such as New York, Chicago, D.C., and more.
Students can tread the boards in one of the ten plays produced yearly or pursue their passion for guitar or drums through private lessons or a Contemporary Music class. Stagecraft and pottery offer students chances to get their hands dirty and learn incredible skills simultaneously. So creative expression is always encouraged if students work with their voices, lenses, fingers, or brushes. Through a mix of mainstream, modern, and experimental artistic styles and techniques, our faculty and our programs prove that solid foundations in the arts provide skills, abilities, and expressions that extend far beyond these studios.
